The City Planning Quilt Pattern is a project that has been in the works for years. When I initially began quilting, I fell in love with improv quilting. Upon every completed improv project that I’ve shared since, I’m always asked, “Will this be a pattern?” 
While the answer for those more complex designs is a big “HECK NO!”, I’ve been working on a series of “improv-ish” patterns that can unite our love for improv with the reasonability of a step-by-step quilt pattern. 
This is the first in a series that I hope will inspire fellow quilters to incrementally step outside of their comfort zones and challenge their creativity with fabric and design.
